Must See Places in Florida Keys

Spending time in Florida is so amazing and beautiful, but if you are anything like me, sometimes I need a little break from the water and beach scene.  Thankfully, the Keys have some interesting and beautiful places to fill some of your time if the beach life is not your calling.

Just like tourists, butterflies love the Keys for the warm weather and great conditions.  Seeing butterflies of all different colors, shapes and sizes is a spectacular display of beauty.  The Butterfly and Nature Conservatory has between 50 and 60 different species.  In addition to these tropical butterflies, there are also beautiful birds throughout the conservatory.  Also, if you are interested in learning more about the creatures you see while at the conservatory, there is a great Learning Center to delve deep.  This magical conservatory is a relaxing serene getaway with beautiful wildlife throughout.

Another great place that people like to visit while in the Keys is the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum. One of the great qualities of visiting the Keys is the diversity, which is why so many people visit this area of the world.  The Hemingway’s felt this way as well.  1928 was the first time the Hemingway’s came to the Keys. At first, they really had no intentions of staying or buying a house.  However, after spending some time there, Ernest Hemingway bought a house in 1931.  Today, people can tour his old home and property.  It has a beautiful in-ground pool that was the first ever in-ground pool in the Keys.  There are also beautiful gardens to walk around and enjoy.  Located at 907 Whitehead Street, the Hemingway Home is a beautiful piece of history in the Keys to visit.

Another stunning place to go exploring in the Keys is Mallory Square.  In this area, you will find shopping, places to eat, art, and so much more.  This place is especially famous for the Sunset Celebration that happens daily.  Many people flock to this location to watch the breathtaking sunset splendors that occur here.  Plus, during that time in the evening, there are art exhibits, street performers, and food carts.  This is a great place to spend some time and site see.

The Keys have so many different options of activities to enjoy.  The beach is often thought to be the most common activity, but the Keys has so much more to offer than just that.  Of course, the beach is beautiful, but the Keys is full of a rich history and fun activities to match.
